Hydrocarbon adsorption units are filled with an activated carbon material to adsorb hydrocarbon vapours, aviation fuel vapours as well as other various contaminants. They are most commonly used on airborne applications that may be subjected to these contaminants i.e. in electronic, electrical, optical, and electro-optical equipments that may be drawn into the equipment whilst the aircraft is on the ground.
